James Dawe and Tim Schulz are a new start-up cider duo that escaped the London rat-race to get into pubs back in 2012. Winning Turnaround Pub of the Year for London & South East and Best Thames Local Restaurant, they decided they were ready for a new project and something that they were even more passionate about: cider!
Here's what they say...
"BumbleBee grew from a combined want to get into cider production and do something that gave back environmentally. Our mission statement: to make scrumptious proper cider whilst raising awareness of the importance of bumblebees as pollinators and aid in their conservation".
"Working closely with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, our aim will be to actively support and educate people in the creation of bee friendly habitats and understand the importance of looking after our pollinators. Currently 10p per case of cider in donated to the BBCT."
James and Tim are based in Oxfordshire, but make the cider in Somerset. This enables them to get the bittersweet and bittersharp apple varieties that makes it taste so scrumptious.
